Funeral Services

We will assist your family in planning a funeral and choosing the options that suit your families needs and your loved ones wishes. We are able to assist you in holding services in a wide variety of areas. From our chapel, to your church or at the cemetery we are able to prepare a meaningful service to honor your loved one.

In addition to funeral services our staff also provides the following services.

Video Tribute, Picture Boards, Limo and Family Car, Delivery of Dish Garden and Floral Arrangments to your home or designated area.

Cremation

We will assist you in the many options of cremation that is available. Some of the options that we offer is:

Direct cremation without services, direct cremation with a memorial service at our facility, your church or place of choice.

Also, visitation and funeral followed by cremation. 

Pre-Planning

There are many advantages to planning a funeral ahead of time. By pre-planning a funeral, difficult decisions will not have to be made during a time of grieving and stress. Your wishes can be put into writing to give your family direction when the time for the funeral comes. We will help you plan so that your family can carry out your wishes.

The contracts that we offer are funded monetary accounts: Full payment trust which the account would be Paid in Full at that time.  The money is then deposited in the bank of your choice and put into a certificate of deposit.  Once completed, the funeral home cannot ask for any additional money unless the contract is altered in any way.

The next contract is a depositary contract; with this contract there are no services or merchandise selected.  Any amount of money is either deposited into a certificate of deposit or a passbook savings account.  By doing this, money can be added each month or at your convenience.

Also insurance can be assigned to the funeral home to cover the expenses of the funeral.  When the insurance is assigned, it then takes the insurance monies out of the insured name and allows the insured to receive assistance with Medicaid through Department of Health and Human Resources. By selecting this option, it will not “lock in prices” at the time the contract is created. 

Non-funded contracts are also available, which is a record of certain merchandise and desires are put on file for when they’re needed.

Online Memorials

We can set up an online memorial for your loved one. Our online memorials provide information for guests about the funeral services and also provide a tribute to your loved one. Guests will be able to gain information about dates, times and locations of funeral services. Guests will be able to sign a guest book through the memorial. By providing information to guests about services, our online memorials help lessen the load on a family during a difficult time. The memorials also serve to pay tribute to your family's loved one.

Obituaries

We will prepare an obituary to be published in the papers of your choice for your loved one.

Veteran's Benefits

We will help you secure your potential veterans benefits, such as burial flags and government marker. In addition, we will make proper arrangements for interment at the West Virginia National Cemetery, if desired.

Social Security

We will notify the Social Security Administration of the death. We will explain and help you apply for any benefits you may be entitled to through Social Security.

Death Certificates

We will help you in obtaining a Death Certificate. Once the Death Certificate is received from the Doctor or Hospital, we will complete the information needed and file with the Vital Registration Office in Charleston.

Certified copies can be ordered from their office in Charleston which will be directly mailed to the informant, or copies can also be obtained from the Courthouse in the county that the death occured.

Reasons that a Death Certificate would to be obtained: Insurance Policies or Bank Accounts.
